Royal Icing and Piping at SCOLA

The learners above on the Royal Icing and Piping course learned the art of piping and writing in Royal Icing, brush embroidery and piping flowers on cupcakes.  We all had a great time and the results at all levels were impressive.

Model Students at SCOLA (Sutton College of Learner Adults).

Learners at SCOLA are on the Novelty cakes course where they are taught how to make lifesize handbags, shoes, baseball caps as well as undertake a little bit of modelling.  The task set was to make a standing model figure out of 50/50 which is harder than making a "person" sitting down on a cake.  See how they got on...I think they rose to the challenge brilliantly.

Springtime in Lewisham

Learners made fruit cakes using the basket-weave royal icing piping method.  The cakes were decorated with spring whimsical flowers and leaves.
